[Work Permit Guidelines] Overseas Chinese Students Work Permit Valid for Up to One Year Starting August 28, 2024


Application method:
  Application via internet: Foreign students, overseas Chinese students, and ethnic Chinese students shall apply for a work permit through the Internet in accordance with the law. The address: https://ezwp. wda.gov.tw/


Other relevant regulations:
  The maximum approved period for work permit application of foreign students, overseas Chinese students and ethnic Chinese students is one year . The longest hours per week are 20 hours except for winter and summer vacation.


  For those applicants who are against the above regulations, the agency may revoke their work permits in accordance with Employment Service Act. Further, for those who work for others without applying for work permit by regulations will be fined between NTD$30,000 and $150,000 in accordance with Employment Service Act.

 

  Starting from August 28, 2024, for applicants who applied on October 1st of the previous semester (Autumn), the period of work permit shall be until September 30th of the following year, and the duration of the permit cannot exceed September 30 of the next year. (If the application period is valid until November 1, the maximum period of the work permit will be until September 30 of the following year.)

  Exceed September 30 of the next year. However, the said regulation which last day is September 30 can be exempted if copy of student ID with stamps of the school registration department or registration certificate for the first semester of the next academic year are attached. 

 

  The work permits will be invalid if students quit, drop out, graduate, or language leaning or phased skill training program are over.

    If you are applying for a work permit for the first time or if your work permit has expired, please select this application category.

  • Reissue of Work Permit:
    If your work permit has not yet expired but has been lost, please select this category and submit a declaration letter for reissue.

 

  From 23/03/2018, for student work permit application, documents other than application form and photocopy of passport may be exempted. However, it shall be subject to the case and overseas Chinese and
foreign students may be asked to attach it.
  For extended students, please attach the certificate of extended study and upload it to the "Other" folder.
