Chaoyang University of Technology – 2025 Overseas English Study Program for Outstanding Students

I. Purpose:

To promote campus internationalization, enhance students' cross-cultural communication abilities, broaden global mobility and international perspectives, and cultivate well-rounded students with both competence and character, CYUT has established a selection and support mechanism for outstanding students.
This program aims to select and sponsor outstanding students to participate in overseas English study programs, thereby enhancing their language proficiency, communication skills, and intercultural competence.
Through this initiative, the university strives to foster personal growth and academic achievement in English learning, aligning with CYUT's student-centered educational goals.

II. Number of Participants and Scholarship Amount:

A maximum of 50 students will be selected for the program. If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, selection will be based on the following criteria in order:

  1. Attendance records

  2. Conduct grade

  3. GPA of the previous academic year/semester

  4. English proficiency test scores or performance in Freshman English

Each student will receive a tuition subsidy covering 50% of the course fee, up to NTD 30,000 per person.
Airfare will be reimbursed based on actual expenses, with a maximum subsidy of NTD 10,000.
(Note: Visa fees, documentation costs, and personal expenses must be covered by the student.)

III. Study Camp Location:

Lapulapu-Cebu International College (LCIC), Cebu, Philippines

IV. Duration and Program Fee:

he program will last approximately 4 weeks, including English classes and cultural tours.
Program fee: USD 1,780 (excluding airfare, airport transfer in Taiwan, textbooks, and visa fees).
Exact schedule and costs are subject to final confirmation.

Call for Applications 1. Post announcement on the CYUT and Office of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation (OICC) websites.
2. Departments are encouraged to promote student participation.
3. Students must submit the application form and required documents to the OICC office.
Mar 2025 Selection & Result Announcement 1. Applications will be reviewed by CYUT’s Academic Exchange and Cooperation Committee.
2. Accepted candidates will be announced on the CYUT and OICC websites.
3. Contact selected students to confirm participation and collect consent forms.
4. Proceed with flight booking and visa application.
Jun 2025 Pre-departure Orientation 1. Conduct orientation for students participating in the overseas English study program.
Jul 2025 Study Abroad Program 1. Students participate in the overseas English training camp.
AY 2025–2026 (after return) Report & Campus Support 1. Students must submit a reflection report to the OICC within one month after returning.
2. Organize a post-program showcase and assist in international activities on campus.

※ Program Information Session ※

To foster internationalization and enhance students’ intercultural communication capabilities, CYUT invites students to attend an Information Session on the Overseas English Study Program for Outstanding Students.

As English is a global lingua franca and a key tool for international interaction, this session is designed to raise students’ awareness of the program and its potential to improve global competitiveness, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication.

A representative from Lapulapu-Cebu International College (LCIC) will present the college’s features and program details. In addition, former participants will share their personal experiences and reflections, offering valuable insights into the challenges and rewards of the program and inspiring others to take part in this international opportunity.

※ Pre-departure Orientation ※

The Pre-departure Orientation was held on June 3, 2025.
During this session, students were introduced to the LCIC campus, local culture, course structure, and key travel tips. The orientation also aimed to help students quickly adapt to life abroad.
Led by faculty advisors, this session prepared students for an enriching one-month journey, filled with growth, cultural discovery, and language improvement.
