Announcement: Selection of Outstanding Students for Overseas English Language Program in 2025

Purpose:
To promote campus internationalization, enhance students’ English proficiency and cross-cultural communication skills, broaden international perspectives, inspire interest and confidence in language learning, and facilitate personal growth and the development of diverse competencies. This regulation has been established to select and sponsor outstanding students of our university to participate in overseas English language programs, in alignment with the institutional objective of "Advancing Internationalization." -
Number of Participants:
A total of 50 students will be selected. If the number of applicants exceeds the available spots, the selection will be based on the following criteria, in order of priority:-
Record of attendance and absences

Conduct grade
-
Average academic grade of the previous academic year

English proficiency test score or freshman English course grade (whichever is higher)

Eligibility:
Applicants must have completed the equivalent of one academic year of freshman English courses or passed an official English proficiency test.
Required documents include the transcript for the previous academic year (must include conduct grade) and a record of class attendance and absences. -
Subsidy:
50% of the tuition fee will be subsidized, up to a maximum of NT$30,000 per person.
Airfare will be reimbursed based on actual expenses, with a maximum subsidy of NT$10,000. -
Program Location:
Lapulapu-Cebu International College, Cebu, Philippines. -
Program Duration and Fees:
Scheduled during the summer break for approximately 4 weeks, from July 5 to August 2, 2025.
Total program cost is USD $1,780, which includes tuition, accommodation, and three meals per day. (The cost does not include textbooks, personal expenses, visa fees, or airfare. The actual number of days and cost may vary depending on final arrangements.) -
Application Procedure:
Eligible and interested students should submit the application form (Attachment 1) along with all required documents to Ms. Shu-Yu Lin at the Student Services Section, Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs during the application period.

Additional Notes:
Selected students must independently apply for and obtain a visa to the destination country. Failure to obtain the visa in time, thereby affecting the group schedule, will be regarded as forfeiting the offer. No objections will be accepted. -
